Our trip started in Venice. Friends advised that 2 days is more than enough, especially in August…how bad could it be? The smell. Not at all. The heat. Brutal! The little lady and I lacked a day’s worth of sleep when we arrived at San Marcos Square. A nice 100 degree day. No problem. A couple from Texas should be a pros in this. We started the day at the Basilica.

Thinking of what to write here is like chewing cud!
